  • Delhi NCR: Saw the highest workforce additions, with major recruiters like PolicyBazaar, Blinkit, and Zomato leading the charge.
  • Chennai: Recorded the second-highest employee additions, indicating a growing startup ecosystem.
  • Bengaluru: Maintained its position as a key tech hub with steady workforce changes.
  • Mumbai: Experienced a significant net loss of 7,024 employees, marking the steepest decline among major startup hubs.

Hiring activity peaked in March 2024, with unicorns onboarding 42,000 employees in a single month. Conversely, September 2023 saw the highest number of departures, with 39,000 employees leaving their roles. Notable recruiters during the peak hiring period included Paytm, BigBasket, and PB Fintech. On the other hand, startups like Zerodha, Zoho, and MapMyIndia maintained attrition rates below 1%, showcasing exemplary workforce retention practices.
